2000 Ford Mustang ReviewEver since I was a little kid I knew I wanted to have a nice first car. Every year when parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents would give me money for Christmas, Birthdays, and other various holidays I would always save my money in a bank account for my first car.
After saving for years and years it was finally time to purchase my 2000 Ford Mustang, which I still drive to this day. I had to drive to New Hampshire to get it, but the price was right with only 3,000 miles and one previous owner. The 2000 Mustang body style is very slick looking and has a new school presence with a factory rear spoiler.
The car does surprisingly well on gas mileage. The Mustang GT’s were a bit our of my price range, so I opted to stick with the v6 model. I did not want to tempt myself into any speeding tickets in my new fast car.
In the years I have owned the car, there have been very few major problems. The only real major expense was a new exhaust after I had a hole in the tail pipe. Luckily my next-door neighbor is a mechanic and was able to fix it quick and efficiently.
The car handles great in the summer time. Cruising with the windows down, listening to some music, there is nothing like it on a warm summers day. The car has great acceleration, and better than average steering control. The problems come when it is not sunny out and there is any sort of rain or snow!
The 2000 Mustang is reel wheel drive and is an absolute death trap in the snow. If there is more than an inch of snow I don’t even bother trying to drive it anywhere. Anytime you touch the gas pedal in the snow the car automatically fish tales. It is almost impossible to get any traction in the snow. Friends and family did not believe how bad it was until they got behind the wheel in a dusting of snow. Even in the rain, the car fish tales whenever you tap the gas and have almost ended with catastrophic results.
Overall, I love my 2000 Ford Mustang, but only in the summer time. I would not advise a first time driver to purchase a Mustang nor would I suggest you buy one if you live in a climate that is prone to rain, snow, or harsh weather conditions.
