A Journal For Your Children

A journal helps a child to record his or her childhood memory. We can motivate our child to write a journal and put his or her arts and crafts work in his or journal. We can encourage our child to decorate his or her journal. They would use their inspiration and imagination to design the cover of their journal.

Topics for Journal Writing

Self-Introduction

We can ask a child to introduce himself or herself by photos, drawing, arts and crafts work. He or she can write about his or her interests, hobbies, collection, sports and his or her favourite activities. He or she can write about his or her strengths and areas of improvement. Their thoughts, feelings and learning can be recorded in the journal. It will be a good reminder of their learning and struggle during their growing up journey.

My family

The children are encouraged to draw or paste a family photo. We encourage them to write about their family members. They can write about their family members' personalities, interests, hobbies, strengths and so on. They can write about their relationship and feelings with the family.

My school

The children can talk about their school experience. They can introduce their classmates and friends. They can write on their school life e.g. their favourite teachers, subjects, learning and so on. If the child is in home-school, he or she can share about their home-school learning experience.

My dream

It helps us to find out more about our children's dream and their passion in learning. We can invite our children to draw their dream and share about their dream with us. We need to listen attentively to their dream and give them affirmation. We can motivate them to achieve their learning goals.
