11 Point Buck - Bow Hunting Deer

On October 23, 2005, I had a brief window of opportunity to spend the evening in my Tree stand

The weather had been slightly overcast with a touch of wind.

As I set in the tree stand it began to sleet. I started to wonder if I had made a mistake and wasted an hour of driving and the list of chores my wife had for me to do.

Well not so much the chores.

Anyway, as I set above the creek bottom, I looked up to top of the ridge and saw nothing but antlers. I quickly stood up and retrieved my bow.

I could not have planned it any better. The Buck
had his nose to ground as he walked down the ravine to the creek bottom.

At 28 yards he stopped slightly cornered away. I released my arrow.
The deer bucked and ran up the other side of the ravine. He stood at the top for a few seconds and ran back to the bottom, stumbled, and dropped within 10 feet of the shot sight.
I almost fell out of my stand because I was shaking so bad.
It was the perfect shot. Thanks to my Hunting Scent Cover
I was able to take home a great deer!
I could not have been happier with this awesome buck and will definitely never let sleet influence a hunt.

The rack was a main frame 10. It had a broken brow tine and also had two kicker points at the bases.
