Money Business Services: Business Management Information- Love What You Do!

There are many young people out there looking to start some sort of business that will provide a steady flow of income to support themselves.

Starting a business can be a challenging and time consuming process, as I am now finding out. The big question every one has is where do I start?

The answer is loving what you do! It may sound cliché, but what good is a job that pays six figures if you hate waking up every morning and going to it. I can speak from personal experience on this one.

Seven or eight months ago I assumed a position as a telephone sales-man for our family business selling chromatography columns in the bio-tech industry. The job paid by commission, and a very good commission at that. However, I hated selling over the phone.

I hated interrupting a chief scientist with a PHD in chemistry to try and sell them something I knew very little about. I would literally dread going into work every morning, sitting at my office chair, looking at a list of ten thousand names I had to call.

Sure it was nice working with my father and brother and seeing them every day. But as for the sales calls, those did not last more than a few weeks time. I realized that even though I may have had the opportunity to make some great cash or take over the business one day, it was just something I was not passionate about.

Find out what it is you love to do. Know what you want. And always move forward. Even if you are moving slow, moving slow is better than not moving at all. Discover your passion and the money will follow. As a wise man once told me, in order to make cents you need to make sense.
