Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Recipe

Shift together into a medium sized bowl:
2-1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Set aside:

Cream; together in large bowl:
1 cup butter. You may substitute shortening.
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar ( packed)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Add: 2 eggs to the creamed ingredients and mix well.

Gradually combine the wet ingredients and mix well.

Stir in: 2 cups chocolate chips (semi- sweet)

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)- if you serve them to youngsters, make sure they are not allergic to nuts.

Spread into a generously greased 15"X10"X1" baking pan.

Bake 375F between 20-25 minutes. Check them to make sure they do not burn. Some ovens cook faster than others.

Let the bars cool before cutting into individual bars. Warp tightly to store.

Tip: These are best stored at room temperature
