Everyone's Watching

by Diana Hullinger
(Terry, MT, US)

Dirty looks
Awful Glares
Holding your heart
While it tears

Everyone’s watching
They’re all talkin
Hear the whispers
As you’re walkin

Pay for your items
At the stand
She puts the money
In your hand

People lookin
As you drive
There any use
Being alive?

Stop and think
At the light
You’d rather shop
Late at night

Don’t panic.
Breathe in and out.
You’ll get through
Without a doubt

Shut the door.
Turn the lock.
Time of death…
Eight o’ clock.
