Family Recipe: Spaghetti Pie Recipe

This recipe comes from a dear friend that passed away in 2007.

She use to make this dinner for me and her daughter when we were in Jr. High School.

I loved it so much, she gave the recipe to my Mom.

She in turn made this dinner for many years (and still does).

Once I moved out on my own, I took a copy of the recipe with me and have made for many friends and passed the recipe on to countless people.

Now, 25 years later, this is my 7 yr. old Son's favorite meal.

It is nothing fancy nor hard to make - it is GREAT comfort food!!

I hope you enjoy as much as we do!!

Ingredients:
1 box Spaghetti
8 oz. box of cream cheese
16 oz. container of cottage cheese
1 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
2 cups of mozzarella cheese
1 lb. of hamburger
1 egg

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Brown hamburger, drain off grease.

3. Add spaghetti sauce to cooked hamburger – set aside

4. Boil water & cook spaghetti, & drain water

5. Stir egg in cooked spaghetti- set aside

6. Blend cream cheese and cottage cheese together – set aside

7. Layer in a 9x11 baking dish: Spaghetti/Egg mix on bottom, Cottage Cheese/Cream Cheese mix in middle, Hamburger/Sauce mix on top.

Bake for 45 minutes.

Put Mozzarella cheese on top, bake until melted.

Let sit for approximately 15 minutes before serving – this allows the ingredients to set up and will not be so soupy.

Will serve a family of 4 for 2-3 days.

** Also good to make and freeze as I do when I am going away for a few days - so my husband and boys don't starve.

Heaven forbid they cook for themselves.
