Indoor gardening with flourescent shop lights.
It is so easy to garden indoors under artificial light.
You will be amazed at the speed things grow and the quality of the finished product whether you are growing ornamental flowers or vegetables or medicinal herbs, everything can be grown indoors and the taste of vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices is so much cleaner and sweeter.
It only requires light, water and temperature control and the right type of fertilizers and almost anything will grow bigger and faster than you can imagine!
I found shop lights, 4ft flourescents, cost about .99 cents each on sale for the bulbs and about 7-10 dollars for the 2 bulb fixture - some you can buy with the bulbs installed.
I suggest using the 6500K color temp bulbs if you want faster and bigger grows but they are not necessary and the 6500K color temp bulbs are more expensive at around 4-6 dollars each.
If you use 4 (2) bulb fixtures, you will have enough light to grow in an area approximately 4ft x 4ft and you can grow at a height of around 5ft.
If you are wanting to grow taller then more lights need be added towards the bottom of the plants.
This is done by lying the flourescent fixtures down on the bottom and allowing the light to fill in the lower branches as well as the top ones.
This is necessary for growing fruits and some taller plants.
This is a very easy way to save yourself a lot of money if you use spices and herbs for cooking, if you use natural medicinal herbs, you know how expensive they can be and some are very hard to find.
Why not grow your own medicinal herbs and do your own extracts, oils and rubs, pastes, butters for cooking, so many options and so very little money to invest!
I will be documenting my next indoor garden from setup to completing my first harvest so if your interested please comment below and I post pictures and information for you and you can even give your 2 cents worth!
I am also interested in working with others to help them establish their own indoor garden.
I am not an expert but I have experience and it is not something that is hard to do, no brain teasers in this area!
I hope there are folks that are interested in indoor gardening because it is not only the green thing to do, it is a whole lot of fun as well!
I have tons of information to give so write below and let me share some of my information!
Grow on, have fun!
