Poetry - As I Walked Along
As I walked along today I thought of all the many ways my Lord has blessed me with his grace. As I walked along today I wondered when I'd see His face. But then I thought, "I see it now. It's in the grass, it's in the clouds. It's in the beauty all around." As I walked along today I thought of all the things I say, the things I ask for when I pray. I wondered if it's possible to say a prayer of naught but thanks. As I walked along today I took the time to appreciate the many gifts I could behold by looking around at all the gold. "The gold?" you ask. "The gold!" I say. "Just look around; it's everywhere. It's in the animals; it's in the air. It's in the many ways He cares." So, who's the blind ones? I say we. Don't be selfish, pray with glee. Pray with joy and spiritual love. Thank the good Lord up above. As I walked along today I opened my nose, my eyes, and my ears. I opened my heart and let go of fears. As I walked along today, I said a prayer of naught but thanks. I welcomed what was brought my way as I walked along today.
