Brett Favre; What are you doing?

I will be the first to tell you I am a huge Brett Favre fan. I think he is a great athlete, a fantastic leader, and a man of true class. Favre had a great season last year and although he didn't win the super bowl he took the Green Bay Packers to the NFC Championship game. After the completion of the season he gave an emotional farewell press conference announcing his retirement. We all thought that would be the end of Brett Favre and his legacy would continue in the hall of fame.

Rumors have been stirring about a possible return to the game for this upcoming season. However, this is unfair to Brett Favre's family, the Green Bay Packers organization, Green Bay fans and most importantly "former" back up QB Aaron Rogers.

Favre has been through alot both on the field and off. There comes a time in life when you need to throw in the towel and move on with your life. NOW is that time Brett Favre. He has been fortunate enough to escape on field injuries and has been a true warrior on the field. Why would he risk his aging frame for a potential life threatening injury? Why would he deprive Aaron Rogers of his starting role as the new quarter back of the organization? Why would Favre ask to be released by the Green Bay Packers and finish his career any place but Green Bay?

Brett Favre, retire already! Your self fulfilled come back is nothing more than a distraction to the media, the fans, the players, the organization and most importantly your family. All good things MUST come to an end.
