Penalty For Touchdown Dances?I love football. You can always catch me watching the games on Sunday no matter who is playing.
I love the competition, energy, and athleticism in these athletes.
Recently though I have been becoming a bit
irritated with officials giving
Penalties
for
celebrations after a touchdown.
Doest the NFL realize that we the fans love watching these celebrations?
I totally understand that some celebrations go too far, but I have seen so many penalties being distributed for no reason.
Here is a perfect example. This past Saturday night, during the giants and
New England Patriots game, Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to Randy Moss that shattered two NFL records.
The officials gave a
Penalty
to
Randy Moss
for his touchdown celebration.
I couldnt believe it! He just broke an NFL record, if he wants to dance for a few seconds than so be it!
Not only was it a ridiculous call but the giants scored on the very next play thanks to that penalty that made the patriots kick off from almost there own end-zone.
A few weeks ago, referee magnet Terrel Owens, who is well known for his touchdown celebrations did go a bit far.
He pushed aside a camera man, took over his camera and pretended to start filming. No questions asked, that did deserve a penalty.
I hope the
NFL will take a look at this topic again during the off-season.
Weren't we told as little kids to go and have some fun? Why cant we carry on that same motto to the NFL?
