Spring Bass Fishing

I can not begin to tell everyone how great spring Bass fishing is. When the water temperature starts to rise to about 60 degrees, the bass begin to go into a feeding frenzy and try to eat everything in sight. Today I decided to brave the spring rain to take my one man boat out on a little lake and give it a shot. It was a bit cool this morning and raining so I thought I would try a spinner bait or maybe a senko. After going down the shoreline about 100 yards, I decided to pick up my top water buzz bait. WOW! Within 20 feet I had 4 bass! I continued another 30 yards when I had the biggest strike of the spring. I had cast across a point, as the buzz bait came to the point a huge swell came up under my lure. The fight was on and I was winning. I knew that I had a nice bass on but I didn't know how nice until it came up beside the boat. It was HUGE! The bass weighed 5 lbs. 8 oz! Within 2 hours I caught 14 bass total and lost 4 more. Spring time bass fishing is the best time of the year to fish and really helps relieve the stress of being trapped inside for the last three months. Get out there and see if you can catch your own big bass. Good Fishing!
