The best sausage gravy in the world!The best sausage gravy in the world!This is so easy to make that my cousin could do it. It may not be health food but it is very tasty.
1 pound of ground sausage ( I prefer country mild )
1/2 cup all purpose flour
4 cups milk
salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Brown sausage at medium heat in a 4 quart or larger cooking pot. Do not drain fat! I told you it was not health food. Add flour to sausage and let flour absorb liquid in pot while stirring and coating meat. Add milk to the pot and stir. Now is where your patience will be tested as it does take a while for the gravy to thicken. It may take fifteen to twenty-five minutes over medium low heat.
