What Can I Do? Get Rid of Regret and Self-Pity

I find myself asking this question a lot recently. Its the long gray area between graduating college and being thrown to the wolves in the real world. Uncertainty, doubt, extreme stress, fatigue and even a little depression are all emotions that run through my head from time to time.

What makes it worse is the added pressure that goes along with everyday life. If you are not ready for it, you will be a casualty. I'll quote one of my favorite Hieroglyphics songs called "make your move" where Cas says " Just doin' what a man to do, handle your business or it'll handle you" More truer words couldn't possibly be spoken.

Let's get straight to the point here. Unless you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you will go through a lot of bullshit. If you are vulnerable, you will go through even more bullshit. And regret will compound the situation twofold.

I could start pouring my heart out to you right now telling you my life story and believe me I'll always talk to anyone who will listen. Some of you may read it and find it interesting and others of you might think "wow, what an idiot, I can't believe he put himself in those silly situations" But I am not going to do it because I feel through all the mistakes I have made I have learned one important thing. Leave regret and self pity behind or become a victim. And once you become a victim its very difficult to recover.

You won't know what I am talking about until you actually put it into practice but believe me if you can master getting up every morning with a clean slate, you will be that much closer to being the person you want to be. I have not achieved this goal, but I am working towards it every single day.
