Keeping the Romance Alive

Ladies, have you ever berated your husband for not staying romantic? Maybe you should check out your own lack of enthusiasm in your marriage. Besides, if you want him to make some changes, my favorite word is: compromise. Of course, being a good example is always helpful. Sometimes it just takes a little patience and tender love to get your man to see that one of you has taken the initiative towards positive change. It has to start somewhere, right? And if you have the energy and nerve to complain, make sure the finger won't be pointed back at you and your own habits.

Here are a few ways to keep the romance alive in your relationship:
1. Write a spontaneous message on the bathroom mirror.
2. Stick a love note in his lunch box. Cut his sandwich into a cute shape. Buy stickers with some sort of theme you know he would appreciate and tape them inside.
3. Tape a notice about something you noticed that he did right to his steering wheel, praising his efforts.
4. Leave a note under his pillow, in his pajama drawer, etc., with a sweet compliment towards something about him that makes you smile.
5. Buy some special pajamas to wear once a month just for him, no matter how long you've been married.
6. Clean up the bedroom, even if you don't have time to do any other area of the house. The atmosphere really does make a difference!
7. If you want him to make extra efforts, make some yourself.
8. If you know there is something he wants you to change about yourself, make him a deal. You each take turns making one positive change a week, no whining or griping.

This is just a start, but even if you feel there may be no hope for your guy, you may be surprised. If he can see that you are willing to try, there's a big chance he will be as well.

Good luck!
