Natural Beauty

I have a complaint. Women spend way too much time, money, and effort on beauty products. Yes, they do love their beauty products. But it's so sad to me that they can't appreciate the wonderful natural beauty God gave them in the first place.

He made each of us unique, each of us with our own special features, and each of us with our own separate personalities and character. It's a shame that we can't allow what we were given to shine. Even if you do not believe in God and what He gave you, surely you can see that by the way you feel you were created, you are still a unique individual.

Now, don't get me wrong. I like to wear some eye shadow and mascara, maybe some blemish cover and some lip gloss every so often. But I want it to enhance what I have at my convenience, not on an every day basis or even every time I go out in public. Why? Because underneath whatever I put on my face or however much time and money I spend on my clothes or hair, there's still me.

When you go to bed at night, you still have to remove whatever additions you have heaped upon yourself. You unload the front you have put on to uncover the real you. Whoever marries you or dates you is still going to have to be around the real you at some point.

So, if you can't show them the real you and have them appreciate you for who you are naturally, they're just getting a fake. So is the rest of society. Maybe you feel insecure without your cover-ups. If so, then what you need to examine is why.

There's no shame in natural beauty. Every woman has it in herself and just has to find a way to bring it out. It's freedom of the soul. It takes the burden off trying to be someone else all the time. In this world of stress and fakes and financial struggling, we need all the help we can get to relieve some of the burden.

Besides, your true self will come out eventually anyway at some point no matter how much you try to hide it. So why not learn to make it the best you can instead of putting on that mask to try to hide it?
